Increasing Bio fertilisers usage for a sustainable agriculture

REFERTIL is a science and technology development project contributing to the cost-efficient transformation of the organic waste streams from the agriculture and food industry.

Projects involved

Farming is essential for the European prosperity, with approximately 40% of the European land used for agriculture. However, rising industrialisation has disrupted the natural cycles on which agriculture relies. Moreover, farming increasingly depends on the use of chemosynthetic fertilisers, which have a long lasting negative impact on the soil.

REFERTIL is a science and technology development project contributing to the cost-efficient transformation of the organic waste streams from the agriculture and food industry. It covers fields from applied science to economical industrial scale ups, industrial technology engineering, and proven demonstrations for the benefits and interests of the SME farmers.

To obtain new insights for the project, the REFERTIL team approached Horizon Results Booster for the Portfolio Dissemination & Exploitation Strategy service. They worked with experts and had access to tailored training and methodologies to get a wider view to potential users, maximise the impact and strengthen the capacity of disseminating research results.

REFERTIL also benefited from support services for Business Plan Development and Go To Market working with experts to develop an effective business plan, secure funding, and reach commercialisation.
